The municipality and current neighborhood of Boston known as Roxbury was one of the first towns that were ever founded by the Massachusetts Bay Colony back in 1630. This area of the Hub is rapidly seeing a great deal of investment go into the area. Many properties are getting purchased and heavily renovated, while newer developments are also coming to Roxbury.

This neighborhood is just minutes from the very center of Boston, and is bordered by Jamaica Plain, Roslindale, West Roxbury, the South End, and the Back Bay. The Boston Latin Academy, Roxbury Preparatory Charter School, Roxbury Charter High Public School, Roxbury Community College, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary’s Center for Urban Ministerial Education, Emmanuel College’s Spiritual Retreat Center, and the Eastern Nazarene College are also all in the neighborhood. The Boston Public Library operates a branch in Roxbury, while other points of interest worth visiting are the exciting Franklin Park Zoo, the Shirley-Eustis House, the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics & Science, and the Roxbury Historic Markers.
